Snow or no snow, Christmas is a mere 9 days away! Can that be true?

True it is. And, since this weather is just so lovely, tonight is the perfect night to step out (bring your rubber boots!) and wander along Dalhousie Street where all the shops will be cooking up fun and festive ways to bring the holiday spirit into your home!

Make it a handmade holiday this year and pop by Workshop for 10% off everything in the store plus goodies, raffles and of course, the big Dalhousie Street Raffle Prize, valued at over $300 (see earlier post)!

hmmm...the prizes seem to be occupying the street...

This is a pic of the huge gift basket that some lucky shopper will win this Thursday night (Dec 15th) at the Occupy Dalhousie Street Holiday Shopping Night!  It is a bunch of goodies from each of the participating shops valued at over $300…wouldn’t that just top off your holiday perfectly?  You could give some of the goodies away…or, well, maybe keep them for yourself…we’ll never tell! (-:

i have been waiting patiently to turn the page of my calendar to december. and today is the day.

people who know me know how much i love the holidays! i love everything about the actual holidays themselves, but most of all, i love the month-long run up to Christmas! i love the twinkling lights in the shop windows, the soft snow falling and wetting my hair, i love window shopping with a steaming hot cup of coffee in my hand, the smell of pine…i even like the christmas carols. i love it all.

and so i was like a kid on Christmas morning (26 days early) when the ladies at workshop put up the handpainted papier mache Christmas balls (made by renee, one of our lovely and fun interns) in the window yesterday…just in time for TONIGHT, the big Dalhousie St. shopping night!

so, i hope to see each of you tonight at all of Dalhousie St.’s fabulous independent retailers getting a head start on Christmas! at workshop, there will be raffles, goodies, music and other fun and, best of all, 10% off everything in the store ~ tonight only! 6-9pm.

just one of the reasons that i love the holidays.

Ottawa’s newest and freshest shopping district is bursting with independent locally owned boutiques, cafes and spas.  We’re keeping our doors open late on  November 25th and December 9th so you can get a head start on your Christmas shopping.

At Workshop, we know how to throw a party!  Join us for drinks, treats, and a super festive kickoff to the holiday season.  While you’re here, check out the totally unique Christmas ornaments that our designers contributed to the Silent Auction.  Bid on your favourites and help us raise a generous donation for the Dalhousie Parents’ Daycare.

We will also be collecting new unwrapped Christmas gifts for the women and children of St. Joe’s Women’s Centre.  We would be delighted to accept kids’ toys and games, women’s toiletries, books and small personal items.
